Delhi Skill & Entrepreneurship University Celebrates Its 6th Foundation Day with a Vision to Make Delhi the Skill Capital of India

New Delhi, October 11, 2025 : Delhi Skill & Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) celebrated its 6th Foundation Day at Brahmkamal Hall, Yashobhoomi, Dwarka with great enthusiasm. The event witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, faculty, industry partners, and students, marking six years of DSEU’s impactful journey in advancing skill-based education and entrepreneurship in Delhi.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri Ashish Sood, Hon’ble Education Minister, Government of NCT of Delhi, who delivered an inspiring keynote address aligning DSEU’s growth with the national vision of Skill India.
In his address, Shri Sood stated, “I am standing here not as a minister, but as a partner to change through skill development. Shasan ka arth hai antim vyakti tak seva pahunchana — the true essence of governance lies in reaching the last individual with service. It is our collective responsibility to extend the reach of DSEU and its students, which is now deeply rooted in Delhi.”
He emphasized that Skill India is not merely a mission but a movement to create meaningful employment, adding that Delhi has the potential to become the Skill Capital of India.
Special Announcement : Shri Ashish Sood also announced the institution of an annual “Skill and Entrepreneurship Festival” in Delhi, to be held every year on 12th January — National Youth Day, celebrating innovation, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment.
Vice Chancellor’s Address : Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Nagawat reflected on DSEU’s journey and reiterated the University’s vision of Crafting Excellence.
“Crafting excellence is our motto,” he said, highlighting the importance of skill development and the transformative vision of the Government of Delhi to impart skills for entrepreneurship.
“Ek kushal vyakti avsaron se bhara hota hai — a skilled individual is full of opportunities,” he added, underlining the University’s commitment to empower learners with employable and entrepreneurial skills.
Prof. Nagawat spoke about DSEU’s milestones since its inception, including its alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) and being among the first universities in India to offer multiple entry and exit options.
He also emphasized DSEU’s strong industry partnerships with organizations such as Daikin, Blue Star, and Atkins Realis, the Women Works Programme, the SIDBI Super 30 initiative to nurture young entrepreneurs, and the Lighthouse Project supporting community-driven learning.
Announcing the launch of new short-term, skill-based programs — including modules for street food vendors — he introduced new learning partners such as Learning Links Foundation, reinforcing DSEU’s growing ecosystem of collaboration.
“DSEU is a living model of the Skill India vision — integrating education, employability, and entrepreneurship,” he concluded.
