La Trobe University Vice-Chancellor visits India

Vice-Chancellor Professor Theo Farrell of La Trobe University [Australia] travelled to India from January 27 to January 31, 2025. This visit celebrated long-standing collaborations and served to further solidify La Trobe's close relationships with Indian research and educational organizations. 

According to Professor Farrell, La Trobe has a long and illustrious history in India, collaborating with important industries and higher education institutions on mutually beneficial projects and joint educational initiatives. He expressed excitement for his third visit since joining the university in February 2024.    

Professor Farrell remarked, "I am thrilled to have returned to India and strengthened La Trobe's current relationships with prestigious Indian universities and businesses, while establishing new ones." 

Through our collaborations with esteemed Indian institutions like the Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre (BBC) and the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), we are leveraging our substantial experience in fields like bio-innovation, health and wellbeing, technology, and sustainable food and agriculture. Together, we are creating Bio Innovation corridors to foster the advancement of research and innovation.  

The idea of investigating additional educational options for kids in Australia and India through cooperative educational collaborations in India also excites me. By working together, we can accomplish outstanding goals and advance higher education in both nations."
