For the 2025–2026 academic year, Delhi University has received 7,790 applications for undergraduate admission under the Children and Widows (CW) of Armed Forces supernumerary quota.
The tentative list of applicants eligible under the CW category has been released by Delhi University, and all applicants are encouraged to carefully review their eligibility and priority status as stated on the website.

The institution has said unequivocally that anyone who has been requested to provide a valid Educational Concession Certificate (ECC) and any accompanying documentation must do so by Monday, July 28 at 11:59 p.m. No more extensions will be accepted, and this will be the last chance to submit the necessary paperwork.

According to university policy, children and widows of members of the armed forces and paramilitary forces are entitled to 5% of seats in all undergraduate programs across all colleges. The Ministry of Defense has announced a priority mechanism for admissions under this quota. At the time of admission, all applicants must present a valid ECC that has been issued by an authorized body.

The priority system, as defined in the official notification, includes a total of nine categories.

  • Widows or wards of defense personnel killed in action are included in Priority I.
  • Wards of servicemen disabled in action who were boarded out because of a service-related disability are covered by Priority II.
  • Widows or wards of those who lost their lives while serving in the military are included in Priority III. Wards of personnel disabled in service who were boarded out because of a disability related to military duty are referred to as Priority IV.
  • Wards of former service members or active military personnel, including law enforcement officers, who have won bravery decorations like the Sena Medal (bravery), Param Vir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, Maha Vir Chakra, Shaurya Chakra, and others are covered by Priority V.
  • Priority VI includes wards of ex-servicemen.
  • Wives of military personnel who suffered injuries during combat or duty, as well as former service members and active military people who have received heroism medals, are eligible for priority VII.
  • Wives and wards of active military personnel are given priority IX and VIII, respectively.

Additionally, the institution has declared that starting with the third round of seat distribution under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), seats will be distributed to candidates in the CW category.

For updates and more guidance on the admissions process, applicants are encouraged to frequently check the official admission website, admission.uod.ac.in.
