UPSC declares Civil Services Prelims result : The number of people clearing the civil services preliminary test was up to 13,343. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the outcome on Monday, 15th June 2026. “For this year, against the total vacancies of 1,016 notified for Civil Services Examination, 2026, a total number of 13,343 candidates have been selected for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2026,” said the UPSC.

The Commission conducts a civil services examination every year to recruit officers for the IAS, IFS, IPS and various other services by holding tests in three stages – Preliminary, Main and Personality Tests.

As per the instructions for the examination, "submission of fee of Rs 200 for admission into the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2026 except in the case of fee exempted candidates viz. Female/PwBD/SC/ST candidates" is required.

Further, scribe details, assistive device, and question paper in large font (for Main Examination) along with filling up the cadre preference for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2026 is required as per the instructions of the Commission.

A period of ten days, from June 19 to June 28, is provided through the UPSC website for furnishing and submission of these details.

One point that needs to be emphasized here is that the Civil Services Examination Rules, 2026 (dated February 4, 2026), specifically indicate that in order to get their e-Admit Card generated by the Commission, all candidates who are eligible for the Civil Services (Main) Examination need to register themselves on the portal at http://www.upsconline.nic.in and furnish/confirm their details and submit their Application Form, failing which they will not be allowed to participate in any further stage of the exam.

For the creation of an e-admit card of Civil Services (Main) Examination 2026, candidates who had already submitted their documents or data need to register and submit after verifying all details, as per the instructions of the UPSC.

Furthermore, candidates are informed that the marking scheme, cutoff, and answer key for the civil services preliminary examination 2026 will only be available on the official website of the Commission, which is https://upsc.gov.in, after the conduct of the Indian Forest Services Examination and Civil Services Examination.
