Shimla: In what would be a huge relief for teaching job aspirants, Himachal Pradesh government has approved the recruitment of 3,100 teachers for government schools which are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This decision has been taken as part of the second phase of the scheme initiated by the state government to recruit teachers for government schools.
As per a spokesperson of the government, the newly recruited teachers will be appointed as per the various schemes for ensuring the availability of eligible and subject-wise teachers in the government schools affiliated to CBSE.
The selection process will be carried out through an examination process by Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog. The selected teachers will get a fixed honorarium of Rs.30,000 per month.
Himachal Pradesh Teacher Recruitment 2026: 3,100 Vacancies Approved
The government has categorized the proposed engagement of 3,100 teachers into two types. Out of the total number of teachers, 600 teachers would be engaged under the sub-scheme of Professional English and Mathematics Teachers, while the rest 2,500 teachers would be appointed under another scheme for teachers from government schools affiliated with CBSE, with a fixed honorarium or consolidated pay.
The 600 teachers’ posts for English and Mathematics are distributed as follows:
• Posts for English Teachers: 240
• Posts for Mathematics Teachers: 360
Subject-Wise Distribution of 2,500 Teacher Vacancies
The remaining 2,500 positions cover several academic and co-curricular subjects. The approved subject-wise distribution is as follows:
