New Delhi: Controversy has erupted over the upcoming UGC NET exam of June 2026 since it was alleged that 90 questions in one of the topic papers were taught to the students the previous night before the test by some coaching centers. A discussion has ensued amongst the aspirants on the allegations being made with calls for a neutral investigation into the matter.

The candidates have claimed that a coaching class conducted just a few hours before the test involved teaching of a great many number of questions which ended up appearing in the actual UGC NET paper. Calls have been made to the National Testing Agency (NTA) to conduct an investigation into the matter.

Students Demand Investigation

Since several aspirants have raised concerns about how there was an unusually high similarity between the training module and the examination, the issue has become even more contentious. The validity of one of the most important examinations in India for becoming eligible for being appointed Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) would come into question if this allegation were proven.

Many aspirants have taken to social media to ensure that the Ministry of Education and NTA conduct a fair inquiry to ensure that no deserving candidate is denied justice.

Previous Concerns Over Repeated Questions

The latest allegations come in the wake of yet another controversy relating to the UGC NET 2026 English paper, in which the candidates alleged that out of 150 questions, 67 questions were identical to those asked in 2024. Complaints were filed with NTA due to these allegations, demanding an investigation of the exam process.

NTA Yet to Confirm the Claims

No official acknowledgement has yet been made by the NTA regarding any leak of papers or that there were about 90 questions that were previously taught before the exam. In earlier incidents, the NTA had stated that all genuine grievances will be looked into using proper procedures and candidates need to inform the concerned authorities about any issues through the proper channel.

Aspirants Await Official Response

The NTA has not yet come out with a clear explanation to all the candidates who appeared for the UGC NET 2026. Experts in the education field have pointed out that it would be necessary to conduct a speedy investigation to maintain the trustworthiness of competitive exams conducted nationally.

If the allegations made turn out to be true, it would become necessary to take proper corrective measures to ensure the sanctity of future exams. All the candidates are advised to wait for only official announcements about any further course of action.
