Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood announced on Friday, November 21, 2025, that he will request a report from every school in New Delhi regarding adherence to the Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) guidelines on students' psychological well-being following the discovery of a class 10 student dead as a result of alleged mental harassment.

"The school has also taken action, and we have established a committee to look into the situation. As a responsible and concerned dad, I am investigating this matter," Mr. Sood stated.

He said he would write to every school to inquire about compliance with the CBSE's guidelines for kids' mental health and wellbeing.

"If any school is facing a difficulty, the State Government will handhold them. I want the next generation to know that we are serious about their mental health and well-being," said Mr. Sood.

His comments followed the discovery of a St. Columba's School class 10 student's body on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

After the attempt, the boy was taken to BLK Super Specialty Hospital where he was declared dead.

The headmistress, coordinator, and two teachers were among the four employees suspended by the school administration on Thursday, November 20, 2025, while the Delhi Education department formed a committee to investigate the situation.
