Sainik School registration begins for Classes 6 th & 9th

Students wishing to enroll in Sainik Schools for Classes 6 and 9 can now register with the National Testing Agency (NTA). The application must be finished by October 30, 2025, and the examination cost must be paid by October 31. The entrance exam will be administered in a pen-and-paper format and is planned for January 2026.
Before applying, students are encouraged to carefully read the eligibility requirements in order to prevent mistakes or disqualification during the admissions process.
Applicants for admission to Sainik Schools may submit their applications online at exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society, the official NTA website. Additionally, candidates will have the opportunity to make any necessary modifications to their filed forms during a correction window that will run from November 2 to November 4, 2025.
Students applying for Class 6 must be between the ages of 10 and 12 on March 31, 2026, in order to be admitted to Sainik Schools for the academic year 2026. Likewise, applicants for Class IX entrance must be between the ages of 13 and 15 on the same day.
Interested students must pay Rs 700 for SC/ST students and Rs 850 for General, OBC, Defence, and Ex-Servicemen students.
In 190 Indian cities, AISSEE 2026 would be administered pen and paper using OMR sheets. The 150-minute test will be available in 13 languages, including Hindi and English, for entrance to Class 6.
A total of 300 marks will be awarded for the 125 multiple-choice questions, which will be divided as follows: 50 marks for Language, 50 marks for Mathematics, 50 marks for Intelligence, and 50 marks for General Knowledge.
The exam for Class 9 will take 180 minutes and be administered in English. It will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions with 400 possible points.
There are fifty questions (200 marks) in mathematics, twenty-five questions (50 points) in English, twenty-five questions (50 marks) in intelligence, twenty-five questions (50 marks) in general science, and twenty-five questions (50 marks) in social science.
Students must receive at least 25 percent in each entrance exam segment and a minimum aggregate score of 40 percent in order to be admitted to Sainik Schools.
Candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) are exempt from the minimum score requirement, hence they are not subject to this qualifying criterion.
