AI Training & Free Online Coaching for Competitive Exams: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched an array of initiatives for the youth of India on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day today from the ramparts of Red Fort, with particular emphasis on artificial intelligence and digital learning as well as inexpensive preparation for competitive exams.
In an important statement, the Prime Minister made a revelation that “one crore (10 million) young people will be imparted training in Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills in one year.” The initiative, according to the Prime Minister, is taken to make sure that the youth of India acquire skills which will ensure their success in the AI-dominated world.
One Crore Youth to Receive AI Training
Emphasizing the increasing significance of artificial intelligence in different sectors, Mr. PM Modi announced that the government would aggressively train one crore youth in artificial intelligence. The program would increase the employment potential of Indians in the future and enable them to capitalize on emerging technology and other sectors.
The Prime Minister stressed that the young population of India should have new-age skills because AI will continue to change the way jobs and businesses are done, besides changing education as well. It is an important part of the government's youth development policy.
This program comes at a time when the requirement of AI skills has become increasingly significant in many sectors such as IT, manufacturing, finance, healthcare, education, and even startups.
Free Online Coaching for Competitive Examinations
In yet another important statement directed towards students and those preparing for examinations, PM Modi mentioned that the government had made the decision to offer free online coaching to candidates appearing in various exams.
As per the Prime Minister, this program will integrate the Digital Public Infrastructure of India, talented teachers, and educational resources to create a complete online system where youngsters can access free coaching.
This statement holds great significance for those students who are preparing for examinations because there are a lot of students who invest a lot of money in coaching. The Prime Minister highlighted that the cost of coaching had turned into a financial burden for poor and middle-class families.
The online mode of coaching will allow students to prepare for examinations without having to travel to coaching centers.
Digital Infrastructure to Drive Education Access
This was one of the strong foundations upon which PM Modi emphasized the launch of the initiative, by bringing together the digital strengths India already has and the teaching expertise required in education. It is expected that this would lead to the creation of an entire ecosystem for learning purposes amongst the students of the nation.
This could be especially helpful for the students living in smaller towns and villages, who do not have access to expert coaching facilities.
Online education would provide the facility for students to get quality educational material from the comfort of their homes.
Major Push for Youth Empowerment
Both of the declarations – AI training for one crore youth and free coaching for competitive exams online – show that the government wants young Indians to become better prepared in terms of their employability as well as further studies.
The Prime Minister has often emphasized the importance of India's youth in the development of a developed India or Viksit Bharat. In his Independence Day speech, he has said that the youth needs to play a very important role in the development of a developed India.
These initiatives also point to a changing trend wherein education and skill development are being combined with technology. Although competitive exams continue to be a way for higher education and government jobs, AI and other technological developments are providing new career options for the coming generations.
What Students Can Expect
There will definitely be a great deal of interest shown by the students who are taking the various tests including entrance exams, recruitment tests and other similar tests. But there were no clear details about the examinations covered, eligibility criteria, course structure, registration process and the launch date of the free coaching network announced by the Prime Minister.
This means that students and their parents have to wait for more details from the relevant government authorities concerning the implementation procedure.
Similarly, there would be more details for the AI training program too.
A New Digital Education Opportunity
The announcements made at the Red Fort could signify a major push towards technology-enabled learning and skill-building in India. Free online coaching could be helpful in making examination preparation easier, and AI training on a large scale would be useful in equipping young Indians with the skills that would be in demand in the future workplace.
Given that one crore youngsters are going to be trained in AI in one year and a country-wide system of free online coaching is going to be created, it can be seen that the Indian government has put education, technology and youth empowerment right at the top of its priorities for the upcoming years.
Success of these programmes will largely depend on the quality of courses, teachers, digital platform access, and their quick implementation.
