IGNOU extends re-registration deadline

IGNOU extends re-registration deadline  : The deadline to re-register for Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is July 2026 now. Fresh deadline has been announced to complete the re-registration process for new academic session as July 15, 2026. Candidates can complete their re-registration process by accessing their official portal – ignou.ac.in. Candidates can apply for various courses such as undergraduate, graduate, certificate and diploma courses offered by the institution.

IGNOU policies mandate that any current students of the university wishing to continue with their studies in the next semester or session should opt for re-registration. Candidates should ideally finish following this on or before the date so that they do not encounter technical glitches at any step.

The steps that candidates need to follow to complete the re-registration process: Log on to the IGNOU website-IGNOU.ac.in. Key in the required enrollment number and password for login. Go through all the details related to personal as well as academic information carefully. Select the papers for the upcoming semester and academic year. Complete the fee payment for the courses selected. Complete the application and print it after submitting.

This process is to be only followed by candidates re-registering for the July 2026 session and applicable to all eligible IGNOU courses through both online and ODL mode. It may be noted that the application process for the PhD programmes began last month as admissions are open for 36 such programmes for the July 2026 academic session across multiple streams such as political science, public administration, psychology, anthropology, biochemistry, chemistry, etc.

Each candidate is required to attend the interview / viva as part of the admission process. It is mandatory to appear in interview for candidates who qualified JRF & NET. PhD programmes inIGNOU consist of two modes namely full time & part-time programmes.
