CTET September 2026 Exam Postponed: CTET September 2026 exam scheduled by CBSE has been postponed from September 6, 2026, to some other date. The new CTET 22nd edition exam date will be declared after the application process is closed from the re-opened application link.
CTET September 2026 exam was initially scheduled to take place on September 6, and both Paper I and Paper II would be held for those who want to make themselves eligible for primary and upper-primary teacher positions. Initially, according to the official CTET 2026 notification, the exam can be held on September 5 in some cities as well depending on an increase in the number of candidates.
CBSE Reopens CTET Application Window
While making the announcement regarding the deferment of the exam, CBSE has made yet another decision of granting an additional chance to the eligible candidates who did not manage to apply during the previous round of application process. The portal for CTET application will remain open from 25th August to 1st September 2026. All those candidates who had successfully applied for the CTET September 2026 exam are not required to apply once again.
It has been learned from the latest CBSE notification that the decision to re-open the window of application process came after the requests made by the eligible candidates. It is also related to the need of giving the eligible candidates an adequate chance to acquire the necessary TET qualification.
New CTET Exam Date Awaited
CTET has not yet declared the new date for its delayed examination. According to the Board, the new date of examination shall be announced once the window for applications is closed. Hence, candidates are advised not to take any chances with the previous date of September 6, which was announced earlier.
The delay is likely to impact the lakhs of aspirants who were preparing for the CTET examination. Candidates now have extra time to prepare for the examination until the new schedule is declared.
What CTET Aspirants Should Do
The candidates who could not register in the previous registration process can use this new window to apply for the CTET. The candidates who have registered must safeguard their registration information and wait for the new date of exam along with further updates on the admit card and the examination centre.
