USD (the University of San Diego) has rolled out a range of online master’s degree programmes aimed “specifically at working professionals in India.” The fully online courses, which are centered on essential technology sectors, comprise the MS in Applied Artificial Intelligence, MS in Applied Data Science, MS in Cyber Security Engineering, and MS in Cyber Security Operations and Leadership.

The university states that these courses were previously available only to students in the United States, but are now being offered to learners in India for the first time. The programmes are entirely online and asynchronous, enabling students to finish the 20-month degree at their own speed without the need to attend live classes.

Academic experts with practical industry experience develop the curriculum, which is reviewed every year to ensure it aligns with current real-world challenges and technological advancements. The degrees are issued in English, and proof of proficiency is required via IELTS (with a score of 7), Duolingo (with a score of 120), or two years of previous education conducted in English.

Students can also opt for a two-week on-campus immersion in the US, which provides opportunities for direct interaction and networking.

Admission and eligibility

Applications are now being accepted for the Fall 2025 intake, with a deadline of August 1. The start of classes is on September 2, 2025. Applicants are required to possess either a 4-year undergraduate degree with at least a second division or a 3-year degree with first division.

The programme's overall cost is about Rs 10.49 lakh. To enhance access to these courses, USD is providing scholarships to qualified students in India. The goal of financial aid is to lessen the obstacles faced by high-potential candidates aiming to develop skills in emerging technology fields.
