NTA Issues a Significant Update

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced a new website for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2025, providing a central platform for undergraduate admissions. The website—cuet.nta.nic.in—includes the application link, allowing candidates to register for the entrance test once the official notification is posted. The NTA is anticipated to release the registration timetable soon.
The website offers important information in addition to the application gateway, such as a list of participating universities that includes deemed, private, state, and central government institutions. It is recommended that applicants confirm if the colleges of their choice accept CUET UG scores for admission.
The NTA has also provided hotline numbers and email support to applicants who are having problems with payments. Candidates are able to transact this year via HDFC Bank, Canara Bank, and State Bank of India (SBI).
A number of important adjustments will be made to CUET UG 2025 in response to the suggestions of an expert panel:
Computer-Based Test (CBT) Format: Instead of using a hybrid format, the test will now be administered entirely online.
Flexible Subject Options: Regardless of their Class 12 stream, candidates can now choose their subjects.
Decreased Subject Count: There are now 37 subjects instead of the original 63. The results of the General Aptitude Test (GAT) will determine admission to courses in dropped topics.
Language Paper Consolidation: Only 13 languages—Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu—will be tested together rather than separately.
Domain-Specific Subject Reduction: Entrepreneurship, Teaching Aptitude, Fashion Studies, Tourism, Legal Studies, and Engineering Graphics have been eliminated from the list, bringing the total number of domain-specific subjects down from 29 to 23.
Exam Duration Standardization: All topic papers will now have the same amount of questions and a consistent 60-minute time limit. All questions are now required; optional questions have been eliminated.
