20 new scholarships are being offered to students at Queen's University Belfast's India campus
Twenty Academic Excellence Scholarships will be awarded by Queen's University Belfast to deserving students who enroll in its new India campus in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City). The scholarships, which represent Queen's University's planned development in India, are intended to assist deserving students pursuing higher education at the international branch campus.
The recently announced Academic Excellence Scholarships are meant for students who have excelled academically and want to continue their education at the GIFT City location, according to an official statement. The announcement, which reflects the university's ongoing emphasis on educational access and inclusion, was made shortly after the 20 Women in STEM Awards were introduced.
Senior Queen's University officials met with leaders from government ministries, universities, and business partners during a three-day institutional tour to Delhi and Ahmedabad to introduce the scholarships.
The dean of Queen's GIFT City campus, Professor M. Satish Kumar, stated that the university's programs in India are intended to equip graduates for leadership and innovative roles in a world that is changing quickly. The scholarships, he continued, will help create a community of students capable of creating solutions in fields like sustainability, digital transformation, and entrepreneurship where India and the UK can work together.
In keeping with NEP's internationalization of education in India, the recently opened GIFT City campus aims to integrate the academic standards of the university with India's developing innovation ecosystem, giving Indian students access to internationally recognized education without having to move overseas.
According to the university, more information on the Academic Excellence Scholarships' qualifying requirements, application deadlines, and course-specific requirements will eventually be made available on the official Queen's GIFT City campus website.
