UK’s University of Surrey to open campus in Gujarat

In GIFT City, Gujarat, India, the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom intends to establish an International Branch Campus (IBC). The University of Surrey's teaching and research prowess in business, international finance, computer science, and cyber-security will be combined to deliver the new India campus. GGS will offer ancillary services like operations management, student enrollment, campus setup, and strategic guidance on entering India.

GGS and the University of Surrey are collaborating closely with representatives of the British Council and the British High Commission in India. The project is perfectly connected with the Government of India's aims to increase education and become a worldwide information giant, and it will assist strengthen ties between the two nations.

In order to promote higher growth for both nations, the UK government has stated its desire for cooperation across a variety of scientific goals and opportunities.

On the sidelines of the QS India Summit 2025 in Goa today, Professor GQ Max Lu, president and vice chancellor of the University of Surrey, and Dr. Sharad Mehra, Regional CEO – Asia and Australia, Global University Systems (GUS) Asia Pacific, announced the joint project, according to a statement released in this regard.
