I have been privileged to serve in the field of education for several years, beginning my journey as a teacher with a passion for nurturing young minds. Over time, I have taken on various academic and leadership responsibilities, each strengthening my belief that education has the power to transform lives. As the Principal of Brain International School, my focus is on creating a learning environment that promotes academic excellence, innovation, values, and holistic development. Every stage of my journey has reinforced my commitment to preparing students not just for examinations, but for life.
What inspired you to become an educator and eventually take on the role of a school leader?
My inspiration has always been the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' lives. Teaching allowed me to directly influence young learners, while school leadership provided a wider platform to shape educational practices, mentor teachers, and build a culture of excellence. The role of a principal enables me to contribute to the overall growth of the institution while ensuring that every child receives quality education in a nurturing environment.
Could you tell us about your school's vision, mission, and the values it aims to instil in students?
At Brain International School, our vision is to nurture confident, compassionate, and responsible global citizens equipped with knowledge, skills, and strong values. Our mission is to provide a learner-centric environment that encourages academic excellence, creativity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. In today's rapidly changing world, what skills do you believe students must develop to succeed in the future?
Along with strong academic foundations, students need critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, adaptability, emotional intelligence, digital literacy, ethical decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Equally important are resilience, empathy, and a commitment to lifelong learning, as these qualities will help them thrive in an ever-evolving world.
How has technology transformed teaching and learning in your school?
Technology has significantly enhanced classroom engagement and personalized learning. Smart classrooms, digital resources, interactive assessments, educational platforms, and collaborative tools have enabled teachers to make learning more engaging and effective. Technology is viewed as an enabler that complements sound pedagogy rather than replacing it.
What role does Artificial Intelligence (AI) play in education, and how is your institution preparing students for an AI-driven future?
Artificial Intelligence has immense potential to personalize learning, improve assessments, and support teaching. At the same time, students must learn to use AI responsibly and ethically. We encourage digital literacy, critical evaluation of information, creativity, and responsible technology use so that students become informed users rather than passive consumers of AI technologies.
Mental health and emotional well-being have become increasingly important. What initiatives has your school taken in this area?
Student well-being is central to our educational philosophy. We provide counselling support, conduct awareness programmes on emotional wellness, organize life-skills sessions, promote mindfulness and stress management, and encourage open communication among students, teachers, and parents. What strategies do you use to ensure continuous professional development and motivation for your teaching staff?
Teacher development is a continuous process. We regularly organise workshops, training programmes, peer learning sessions, classroom observations, mentoring initiatives, and professional learning communities. Teachers are encouraged to update their pedagogical practices, embrace technology, and engage in reflective teaching to ensure continuous growth.
How important is parent-school collaboration, and how does your institution strengthen this partnership?
Parents are valuable partners in a child's educational journey. We maintain open communication through regular parent-teacher meetings, orientations, workshops, digital communication platforms, and collaborative school events. A strong partnership between school and home creates consistency in supporting students' academic and personal development.
What are the biggest challenges schools are facing today, and how can they be addressed effectively?
One of the major challenges is preparing students for a rapidly changing world while maintaining strong foundational values. Other challenges include managing digital distractions, addressing mental health concerns, ensuring equitable learning opportunities, and keeping pace with technological advancements. These can be addressed through innovative teaching, continuous teacher training, responsible technology integration, strong value education, and active collaboration among schools, families, and the wider community.
